I just got a new dedicated server at RackShack (Plesk based admin.) Following Plesk Admin help I was able to setup one domain and it works fine over the Internet, then I added a second domain and it doesn’t work at all (yes, I did change the DNS entries on the domain registration, 3 days ago), finally I tried to add a third domain but I get message saying that “They are not vacant Ip-addresses”

I am using DNS servers: NS1.RACKSHACK.NET and NS2.RACKSHACK.NET and both domains were created using ip-based virtual host type.

What do I need to do to get this setup right? Please let me know if you more detailed information about my current settings.

Thanks.

If you only had 2 IP's on the server and you set them both up as IP based hosting sites then you wouldn't be able to set up anymore sites. You will need to setup a named based hosting IP by running the plesk reconfigurator so that you can setup more sites. I am not sure if you meant these to be named based hosting or IP based hosting, but you can change them to Named based hosting under the HOSTING tab.

Here is a script NightHawk wrote that will help you set your hostname (if you haven't done this) and it runs the plesk reconfigurator.

As for why the second domain didn't work right. I am guessing that you didn't enter a dns ticket with rackshack to have them add it to their dns server. You can do this in the members area on the rs web page.

You can try out all domains in www.dnsreport.com to see if they are setup correctly. This may shed some light on the problems you're having with the second domain.

It might be easier for you to run you own DNS. It's only a few easy steps and you won't have to worry with RS's DNS panel.
