Hi There,

I've upgraded mySQL and PHP on my server but now PLESK control panel doesn't seem to work anymore.
I get this error :

/index.php3: Unable to connect to database: 1045, in /usr/local/psa/admin/auto_prepend/auth.php3 on line 31, plesk_errormsg=1045, php_errormsg=

I think i need to reinstall PLESK ?
Or is it a config file that has to be changed ?

I think your problem is a simple one....although they have changed the error message on me...so I could be wrong..lol

When you upgraded mysql..did you keep the mysql admin username and password???

If not..go set those up...and you should be good to go (btw..the mysql root user is not username root...but admin on a plesk...and the pass needs to match your plesk cp password.)

well...now this is gonna get tricky....

see...first you have to delete the root user (or rename him to admin)

then set his password....

I would suggest installing phpmyadmin outside of plesk ...and using it...as you describe yourself as a "n00b"...and doing that all from the command line could be a tad tricky....

just dont' forget to reload mysql (from phpmyadmin) after you make the changes.
