Being that the mysql on your box is just a standard redhat rpm...I would suggest using the standard redhat rpm's to upgrade it....just I would also suggest making a backup of your db's first.. (just in case). Also be prepared to change the mysql root username back to admin...as I have been told that sometimes it will be changed durning the upgrade....I guess it all depends on how you do it..
