Full Version: Disable Apache Logging

I have several Domains that do not need Web Server logging and I would like to turn logging off for these domains.

The most likely place to disable logging is in the vhost.conf files, and the Error Log can be turned off, however, Plesk uses the CustomLog directive instead of the TransferLog directive and I've searched everywhere for a method to turn off a previously issued CustomLog directive, to no avail.

With TransferLog it is just a matter of directing the output to /dev/null but this won't work with CustomLog.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Kenny

gapdev,
even if the site doesn't explicitly need logging, you should keep it on anyway. they may be useful if crackers break into your server through those sites, because sometimes you can parse through the log and see how they got in.

I would have to agree with Bio here....I would never recommend disabling logging...it can and will come in handy some day....

(btw...Bio..I like your new sig).
