How long did you leave it, remember adding a subdomain makes changes to the DNS (which will probably take time to propogate, it depends on whether your domain is already cached or not)

Hi,

I am new to Plesk and i have just got my server with ver.5
I have a created an account with IP based. now i need to create a subdomain on it. I did that too, removing the "www" prefix and created the subdomain, But when i view the account's DNS info it shows me my servers default IP address.

I need the subdomain on the same ip on which i have set the new account.
When i go to the hosting option for this subdomain and when i try to specify this subdomain with an IP based a/c i dont see the IP in the drop down menu . Hence i m forced to choose the servers default IP and it says " This subdomain has a name based hosting on a perticular ip"

I really dont know what to put in the DNS entry for this subdomain,

Any suggestions on this problem any one ?

Unfortunatly, this is no way to do that in the plesk cp...you would have to create the subdomain manually in the apache configs, if you want it to point to the same ip# as the main site.
