How to create subdomain?

Instead of www.domain.com , I would like to also have ebook.domain.com for example.

Do I use a domain pointer and point it to www.domain.com/ebook ?

Or I need a new ip address and create it like how I create a domain.

You set up a sub-domain just like you do a regular domain.

Press NEW DOMAIN
uncheck the little www box
put in sub.yourdomain.com
press UPDATE

(Done, subdomain created)

Don't forget to add an A record on the domain for the sub that you create.

sub.yourdomain.com A 216.40.***.***

Ok lets see if I got this...

First I create a subdomain by creating a domain like do a regular domain example:

my domain is pdxvenues.com
so I create new domain called djfrankiej.pdxvenues.com remembering to uncheck the box next to the www

Then I go into the dns settings for pdxvenues.com and
add a "A"record that looks like this:

djfrankiej.pdxvenues.com A 207.44.***.***

And all should be right and working?

Or am I still missing something because it still not working icon_sad.gif

Well back to the issue been gone for a bit.

It still does not work.

Do I need to do anything to the httpd.conf to make this work?
