Search for Bind9 howto and how to chroot bind or get someone to do it for you as it is a tough job.

You can also check djbdns at http://cr.yp.to

I wouldn't run Bind 4 as it has multiple vulnerabilities.

Don't follow Dafonso's advice.

Samba is for Windows file and printer sharing.

How is it involved with the thread's question?

because i was able with that to make it so when someone on my network types in my hostname it goes to my default apache site... which is what i wanted to do, but now i also want to setup a dns server :-D what i want to basicly do is set my domain host to connect to my system by the nameservers, instead of using their fowarder to just foward to my IP...

If I were you I would hire someone to do the job for me.

You will save a lot of trouble.

Kind regards.
