Okay this will probably be posted as a subject in more than one area, but I think that Head surfer has got a lot of balls to actually charge a monthly rate as high as he has been for the raq4i server memory. A decent install charge of say 60 dollars and a one off fee of another 120(or cost of memory plus the usual 30%) would be a better way of doin it. Same goes for hard disk upgrades. I think within a 2 year period the server hard disk would have been paid for 3 or 4 times in that timescale. Not that I wanna deprive head surfer from a TVR or a decent meal every night, but I think the expensive leasing rates that are being charged are well... too high. Can we see some sence put into these charges, as 512 MB ram is less than 90 uk sterling or 120 dollars, and bulk buy would get it even cheaper(don't say RS buy a dimm at a time, yeah pull the other one). Other than that I'm as happy as a pig in cow poo.

Seeing this post, and wanting to have a memory upgrade myself, I found this:

UK Price on RAQ 4 Memory:
http://www.crucial.com/UK/store/listparts....RaQ+4&x=11&y=11

US Price on RAQ 4 Memory:
http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp...=RaQ+4&x=5&y=12

Looking at the RAQ documentation, there are two memory slots, so can we buy two x 256MB at around £48.58 +vat / $68.38 + taxes, or even can we send you memory that we buy at these prices for our RAQ?

I think memory should only be a one off charge and not monthly as current memory prices are so low; the above prices do not include additional bulk discounts that could be achieved by RackShack...

im in no position to comment on our pricing strategy, but im sure there is a reason for the fee. it would not be charged if there was no need for it because, as you can imagine, it upsets many people.
