By order of the Tight Wad Surfer, we must move our miscellaneous inventory before year end by ANY MEANS NECESSARY! We define miscellaneous inventory as "stuff" other than current inventory such as Durons, Cobalts, and also some Compaq DL 320s.
We have lumped the various configurations into three options with varying memory and hard drive options. They are guaranteed to have 256 MB Ram and a 20 Gig hard drive but could have up to 1 GB Ram, and 2 60 GB Hard Drives. It is truely pot luck. Even our sales personnel and me do not know exactly what configuration each server is.
Pricing will be $89 monthly and a $1 set up fee. Please note: if you cancel another Rackshack server (within 30 days) to get one of these, there will be a $100 fee added to your account. Also, pleas note: if you cancel one of these servers within 90 days of signing up for it, there will be a $150 fee charged to your account.
This special $89 pricing is meant to reward our existing customers and allow them to grow their businesses.
Also, look for the XEONs to appear on our web site today. They will be priced at $299 setup and $299 monthly with 1000 gigs of transfer. The pre-orders recieved will be honored at the lower price but with the previously quoted 800 gigs of transfer. Pre-ordered customers will have the option to take the new deal.
Thanks for the continued business, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays.
PS. PLEASE help with these server blow outs so that Tight Wad will pipe down. Also, I have a huge electric bill to pay for my Christmas Lights. All sales are appreciated!!!!
Please keep in mind that we will have limited tech support staff in the DC and in the call center on Christmas day. Your best bet for support on Christmas will be our ticketing system and chat support. We anticipate handling reboots in the same timely fashion that you have come to expect.

Any chance we can get the time you'll be posting the $89 servers as I am waiting to get one. It'd be my first server, from rackshack or anyone else but I was having second thoughts, this caught me hook line and sinker. Hopefully I'll be able to snag one.

Dang it! I've been holding out on getting a second server. Okay, so you got me :
Hopefully, this time I'll be able to get more than 9 IP's before the subnet runs dry

What do you need more than 9 IP's for? Are you hosting a lot of SSL sites?

Robert,
If we get the bad-luck of picking one potluck with 256Mb RAM, would we be able to make it to 512Mb?
Currently we see upgrade prices just to add more 512, but not more 256...
Or, could it be done just for these offers, as a way to keep your inventory more plain, i.e., less servers with 256 RAM?

Im going to avoid this blowout bonanza.
My luck is always bad.
I'll end up with a 20gb 256MB ram server.... when the next person in line gets 2 60GB hard drives and a gig ram

And do you guarentee IPS on those subnets? Enough for everyone who needs them, their first 7 and anymore that they need to pay for??????

aussie,
They don't guarantee anything. As a matter of fact, you could get a server and ask for an one IP a week later and they could tell you that you have to move the God blessed thing to another subnet
And the craziest thing is that they only allow a maximum of 32 per server, even though there is not enough IP's for every server to have anywhere near 32 IP's
It's one of a few of things that will eventually drive me away from rackshack. Another thing is that other places offer $99 servers with 500gigs and Cpanel5 for an extra $20/month! Oh yeah...and there are more IP's than you can shake a friggin' stick at.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge webhost who sells 10 IP-based/day, but at Rackshack I'd need 10 servers just to as many IP-based sites as I could get on ONE server at another data center.
So, if your looking to grow, make sure you do the math.
P.S. I love my IP deprived Rackshack server and would recommend them to anyone.

The posting of the initial blow out inventory is going up in just a few minutes hopefully.
I guarantee that I will work with anyone on a one on one basis if you get a pot luck (non-Cobalt) with 256 and want to upgrade it to 512 on a one time fee basis. This does not apply to the Cobalt pot lucks that will be available.
Thanks for the continued business!!!!!!!!

Sorry to be a buffoon - but at last I have the complete answer:
995Mhz Duron/40Gb disk/512Mb RAM/Ensim 3.1.31
Been abit of a hairy afternoon here. ADSL has been rock solid for weeks but loses all routeing just as the blowout starts. I just can't cope with thinking at 56Kbs....

Thats just what im thinking about. foggy, have you bought one?
And, I wonder why the remaining numbers in the bargain basement keeps the same for at least 1 day? If I were before, I would grab a DL320 at once, but now... Are these holiday DL320 the same as the regular 129$/mo DL320?

I keep getting half way through the order form and then i close it because i cant really afford it cuz my crappy car (honda, dont buy one) is about to die..... but i still want the DL!!.. I'll probably get one.. .... they dont seem to be going anywhere too fast.. and theres more being added to it.. it was 11 the other day (for the ensim DL's)
(pretty sure the DL's are the same as the regular priced ones.. just on "clearence"

)
I just wonder how long this sale is gonna last..
I asked someone in chat the other day and was told that fee applies to these ones too.

grrr... my parents just finally jumped on the bandwagon and had me set up a computer for them. They live out in the sticks, they have the option for cable internet with 256 down and 128 up for $30 a month (they also have 768 down for $40 and 1.5 mb/s down for $50 @ mo) but since they live out in the sticks the phone lines are crappy and the fastest dialup speed that you can get there is 24k and so needless to say, it's REALLY slow! anyway, I begged and pleaded my parents to cough up the extra $10 a month for cable internet service over dialup but they wouldn't listen. I'm also too cheap to pay the $10 a month for them regardless of how frustrating dealing with dialup is.
So I spent 3 hours today teaching my mom how to e-mail, and I swear to god that 2 and a half hours of that was connecting to the internet and waiting for e-mails to upload/download. That got me a little frustrated so I needed to rant when bizz reminded me of the frustrations of dialup. I almost just drug her down to my house to use the cable internet... but didn't feel like going through the effort of cleaning my house before she came over.
I've heard quite a few people in here complaining about trying to order servers during the $1 setups but missed out because their dialup was too slow so by the time they had the order form downloaded rackshack was sold out of $1 setup servers.
(I'd much rather pay a setup fee and not have to deal with trying to get a hold of sold out servers... but that's just MHO, I'm not one of those people buying 20 servers at a time.)
Every time I talk to someone that still uses dialup I want to ring their necks and say "what the @*#%%@#** are you thinking????" especcially every time I see a commercial for aol's dialup service. I hope that aol misses the broadband wagon and quits ISPing after the broadband revolution so that we a) don't have to deal with their users any more b) don't have to hear the internet being refferred to as "AOL" any more c) stop seeing their ads, commercials, and cds showing up in my mail on a daily basis, plus the onslaught of programs which install "free aol internet access" shortcuts on my desktop any time I reboot into windows. Fortunately I don't have that problem in linux.

well, the population of the town is 600, (no I didn't miss a digit) and there in oregon, 2 hrs from portland.. lol
dsl isn't available, just cable. The cable guy told me that in our town, for some weird reason we have really good T.V. cable lines running in, 8Xs the signal strength of the average locations. Unfortunately our phone lines our horrible and even our phone calls are staticy, when using land line phones I often get asked "are you on a cell phone" unfortunately there's barely enough cell phone signal to even send a text message from my parent's house. I live a ways away from them and can actually get a cell phone signal, but only about 2 out of 5 bars on the cell phone's little signal meter. We all look like we're measuring radiation levels or something because we're always walking around holding our cell phones up in the air looking at them trying to find a spot with good reception, since you can walk 5 feet and get a signal difference of 2 or 3 bars on your phone. But I guess that that's probably anywhere.
Anyway, we're definitely the sticks, if you don't believe me, consider this, my sister is my mom =)
but that's only because I was adopted by my grandparents and consider my adopted parents (biologically grandparents) to be my parents... but that's another story for some Jeff Foxworthy "you know you're a redneck if..." message boards or something.

heh, well I guess that we're not too bad then, especcially since in the summer time there's about 20,000 tourists here at any given time, every last one of them annoying as can be. However the KOA campground alone is bigger than the rest of our town, and so's the state park campground.
