I have tried to execute a number of the advanced majordomo commands with no success.
I am interested in limiting the number of posts a subscriber can send per day/week etc.
None of these seem to work only the very basic command set.... am i doing something wrong or are the advanced domo commands not available?
Thanks

I believe that the version of Majordomo that is installed on the RAQ is NOT the full version. As with the OS itself it is a modified version of the original

Has anyone tried to compile and install the full version? Does anyone have a set of instructions for this?
Is it possible to limit the number of posts a subscriber can submit automatically without direct moderation?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's the full version, but which version I don't know. I did a search for the config file and edited it manually to my needs....

I'm pretty sure it's not a full version, or something is tweaked behind the scenes to make it work well with the Cobalt GUI. I tried to make my mailing lists moderated via the conf files for about 2 days, and couldn't get it to work.

Yes...they have modified it. Since the Cobalts have the weird/unorthodox system of /home/sites/www.domain.com/ they had to modify it to place the majordomo files for all the sites. IIRC, you can't use the digest either. This is also why you would be hard pressed to get MajorCool working on a RAQ with the default install.
You could install the latest and greatest version of Majordomo in a different directory and use it on one domain to its fullest...

okay, so i installed majorcool but it's not working through http... when I'm in the shell I can type perl majordomo.cgi and it executes and prints out html but it doesn't work from the browser.... The permissions are set to 755 and the shabang line is set correctly, I'm sooo confused.

try chown user:group majordomo.cgi
where user and group are the user and group for the domain you're on, it seems scripts won't execute if root owns them unless it's the root domain.
