The fan's on the processors break down quite often M8. Get it looked at asap.

Drac, is your server still running ? If so, I'm pretty confident the temp. is not actually 99deg. C.

Otherwise, I hope RS's halon (or whatever) equipment is ready for operation icon_razz.gif

I had the very same problem but my readings were 100 deg C and getting warmer.

When they looked at it, the fan was no good and they changed it. Go to Rackshacks chat page and ask who ever is in the colo to have a look at it.

Where in the GUI is the cpu temp? and whats the normal temp?

I have heard that AMD chips can run fine at up to 90c, over that and they start to fail... icon_sad.gif

The Cobalts are notorious for the fans failing. We are hoping to have a shipment of 200 fans next week. I do not know what it is about the fans, but we have some go out every day.

However, the overall temp seems to be ok most times even if teh fan is out. If it is over 90, you should probably ask in chat for someone to check it out.

While the colo is not staffed 24/7 as fo now, there is ALMOST always someone there that could probably take a look at your box.

As I stated in a previous post above.

Yeah, I would definitly say it is the fan. Most CPU's tolerances are 90C or below...

Right now mine is running at 32.5C

Thanks for replying.

I talked to a Rackshack guy, and he told me there was some kind of hidden CGI task running, which was doing nothing, just constantly looking through my files (weird). he got that off, and now my cpu is back to 35 degrees.

Sounds like someone's been spying on ya. Maybe looking for Credit card info or something....

You should find out what script and exactly what was it doing?

Just a suggestion.
