Hmm. Anyone come accross this ?

I have a RH7.2 machine. It had Ensim webppliance 3.1.1. installed. I removed it and I confirmed that ports 21, 25, 80, 143 etc were NOT responding anymore.

I installed PSA 2.5.0 and I got everything to work except FTP. Anyone logging into the FTP server will get the message show in the title of this topic. Upgraded to 2.5.5 - same thing still happening. I also checked for any additional instances of proftpd.conf but the only one in existance is the correct one in /usr/local/psa/ftpd/

I even tried upgrading to PSA 5.0.3 via 5.0.0 - no matter what I do, I cannot get rid of this message. All other services are functioning ok.

sounds like you have a shutmsg ... do a locate for it...remove it..and all should be fine

Part of the webppliance removal must have put this into /etc

I just rm'ed it and I am bringing PSA back up...

I wonder when exactly the shutmsg was created....

there are many reasons a shutmsg can be created...I suggests hitting google if you really want to know...
