Full Version: MySQL remote connection error

All of a sudden MySQL-front cannot log into my Plesk box. I get this error:
QUOTE
conection failed:
2013: lost connection to mysql server during query

I have only just recently updated the following packages:
glibc
glibc-common
glibc-devel
nscd
nss_ldap
openssl
openssl-devel
openssl095a
openssl096
tar

(then I applied the Plesk v2.5.5 patch on top of that to make sure because plesk covers some of those packages above)

If anyone can shed some light on this I would appreciate it.
I have another server and updated exactly the same packages on that and there doesn't seem to be any issues.

I don't see any of those packages causing an immediate problem... is the query your running processing quite a few records??
frostie
Yes as far as I know it is. It would be running through all the databases to find the correct one. Try out MySQL-front for yourself and you will see if queries all the databases to find the appropriate on for your user/pass details.

Ahh so it's failing when initially connecting... I thought by the msg that it might be timing out due to a large query being run.

I'm just checking... are you logging onto your box using the main 'admin' account or a user's account??
Ronny
this is happening to some of our own domains as well. Not just remote connections, but things like phpBB etc, it will never connect.

more noticably the databases under domains starting with A i don't know about the others
Jonathan
How much load is your server under and have you changed any mysql settings??
Ronny
if you're asking me then, nope not at all, it's happening on all four of our servers. I just found one "B" domain that's affected as well
