I was wondering if any of you knew of a domain name affiliate program that was free to join and no setup fee and had cheap prices for registration? I was initially going to use GoDaddy.com 's program but they wanted $100 to register a domain. NOT! Thanks! Oh yeah! They have to let me put in my nameservers as the default nameservers during registration.

i haven't seen a $100 fee for domain with godaddy.com .. strange.

i use only www.directnic.com for all my domains.. it's $15 per domain, but great service they got...
cmafia
If you want to be able to customize the default nameservers and stuff like that, you have to register with their sister site WildWestDomains.com . Just go to Godaddy.com and click on the affiliate program link.

As far as directnic.com is concerned, they don't give you the option of having my own personal nameservers as the default nameservers for people registering a domain.

Here's the link to Wild West Domains so you can see what I'm looking for....but at a cheaper price.

We've been using ItsYourDomain for the last 2 years or so - visit them at http://itsyourdomain.com. They do not charge any signup fees at all.

Our own site contains an example of integration of their search box with an existing site: http://host24.com.

Tell them host24 sent you cool.gif

afriq - thanks for the link to ItsYourDomain -- I like these guys. Particularly this bit:

Non-competitive Environment
We recognize your customer base is your most important asset. ItsYourDomain.com does not engage in Web hosting, Web design or Internet access. ItsYourDomain.com is dedicated to providing the best products and services for the domain industry.

They're too expensive though, 15 bucks per year when stargateinc charge 8.85 when you sign up with them. Renewals are a little more expensive but that's basically your own gamble ... if you think the price is not going any lower just sign up for a lot of years and you keep the low price. I don't think much of their service though, nor of their interface, but I don't think they can be beaten on price. I would never send my customers to stargateinc though as they are my direct competitior for the hosting business. Thats where I think ItsYourDomain is getting it right.

I know directnic gets good reviews, but they're also too expensive and also offer hosting.

I like Doster's RegisterAPI

You can fully intergrate it into your own site, they process the credit cards.

$12.00 per year your cost though. I use domain registration to compliment my hosting, I reseller domain names for $12.95, $2 less than what Dotster sells them for.

Have a look how I intergrated my domain registration.

https://secure.registerapi.com/order/regist...hp?siteid=19557

Please DO NOT buy from me, unless you want to, I posted this as an example only!!

We're using either GKG.net ($9.99) or Stargate.com ($8.85).
Do you know better prices in the world?
It doesn't matter if they offer hosting...
raventec2
I'm using enom. right now my retail reseller prices are at $11 till i get more volume for myself or resellers. I went with them because it's brandable, and the domain management works really well and you can set your own nameservers etc. and the registry rocket option works pretty cool. it's a brandable solution but it's bland looking, it's easy enough for clients to figure out and the registry rocket option does the cc processing for 95 cents plus 3% of each transaction and you get to set your own retail prices.

here's what the registry rocket looks like but remember it's live so it will bill you if you buy a domain name:

I don't have an example of the reseller interface, but you can always go to enom and check some of it out.

Good luck with your venture!
secwrd
I use wild west. I buy domains for 7.30 and sell for 8.95 it might not sound like you could make profit, but I've made my 99 back in like 2 months
raventec2
Yeah, they definitely has some great prices. if they weren't affiliated with godaddy, i'd have jumped on them in a heartbeat!
MattS
I use www.outstanding.com

I'm pretty sure they're exactly the same as www.itsyourdomain.com

We are able to price our domains at $15 per year and make $4.30 per domain.
raventec2
Looks like it. The secure.online-access.net looks familiar. sweet interface. Prices are decent too.

MattS - can you make global changes and manage all your resellers, and domains from them without having to login as each one?
cmafia
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I went with OutStanding.com . They seem to be what I was looking for. Their prices could be a little cheaper but that's still ok.

So... nothing beats GKG prices as standard prices ($9.99)... I mean without a reseller discount... What do you think?
geografx
GKG offers hosting as well as web design and this has proven to be a problem for me. I love their service and pricing however.

we use namecheaps reseller program its actually enoms but you dont have to shell out the $400-$500 start up that enom charges. The start up is $25 and you get domains as cheap as $6.99
GeeGee
You can try http://registrypeople.com/ if you haven't got a better option to register your domain names yet.

This site is PDQ of eNom that offers the same price as eNom offers to its resellers/partners (presently its offering $8.95 per year) with no joining fee. You can even pay for one domain at a time without going for bulk deal.

It seems to be a good deal.

I've been reading this thread, and I have *not* found what I am looking for.

Really, all I am looking for is a "GoDaddy" with an API, so that my website could check on availability of domains and actually *register* those domains for my customers, instead of my domains saying OK, and then I go to register the domain 12 hours later and the domain name is not available.

I don't want to pay to join a program, and then pay monthly fees, hoping that I'll sell enough domain names to cover my costs.

I'm happy to pay competitive retail prices, thank you; it's just that I don't want to build a screen-scraping application and then have *my* site stop working just because the *registar* decides to give his site a facelife.

All I see are registrars without APIs, registrars with high prices, and registrars that want me to sell a hundred domains before I break even.

actually with our solution the namecheap one. enom gives you a set of php or asp scripts you set up on your server and configure to the look and feel of your site. i would show you ours but we took it down for now as we are redesigning our site. but its easy to configure and your customers think they are registering through you and they can login to a generic control panel, they also have all the great features that enom offers. like i said a 1 time set up fee of $25 and then they are as low as $6.99 each domain. when your customer purchases a domain it connects to enom and registers that domain then and there. for the cost i feel there isnt a better solution.

The namecheap thing seems to be a pretty cool idea, the problem is that there is no sign-up form or information on their site stating so(assuming the address is namecheap.com). When I clicked on the 'resellers' link, It sent me to the contact page. Am I suppose to email them regarding it, or have they stopped offering reseller services?
Risul
I'm an eNom ETP, and can setup free eNom reseller account which will allow you to register names at $8.95.

Please note that I'm not getting anything out of this because my prices are also $8.95.

PM me if you're interested!

I just signed up with Wild West last night before I read this.
I notice they require a cookie setting that is not default in IE or Net. The worst part is that the documentation is wrong in 6.0 and it has no doc for aol users. test it at sign up on DomainsPro.com I wonder how many sales are lost with people who do not understand how to adjust settings and such. But I think I will hang for now and ask them why.

I own a whole bunch of domain names ( I got into hosting because of shortfalls in the hosting companies I was dealing with)

But to get back to topic,

I buy my domains from DotRegistrar.com and I believe I am paying the lowest price per domain than any unless I became a registrar myself. I pay 6.49 a domain com net org us info biz and name. I am working on the api and will be selling domains this year for the lowest in the world (boy wont I be rich)

PowerPipe.com is 7.99 every year. But when I used them a couple years ago it did not register in real time.

By their pricing chart, that means you have over 1000 domains? Holly cow!

Do you know this registrar "www.iregistrations.com"?
They register domain names at $5.99... without reseller account... what do you think?
WillyMore
I registrations is not a registar ( Check at www.internic.net ) And I cant find on the site who they are registering with.
It looks to me like they are a DotRegistar.com (iholdings) Reseller
their name is registered there.
Domain Name: IREGISTRATIONS.COM
Registrar: IHOLDINGS.COM, INC. D/B/A DOTREGISTRAR.COM

DotRegistrar is "home of the 6.49 domain" Stating that is sells bulk at 6.49. At that rate they are loosing .49 plus .25 or so with cc charges. Obviously counting on you buying more services or possibly raising rates next year and figuring most people wont hassle transfering.

Registrars pay 6.00 to verisign per domain much like we pay the dmv. So they arent getting them any less than that. But I doubt that a registrar is giving them the domains without profit.

Someone would have to try registering one there first.

I have a connection at Dot Registrar and I will email him and ask him if Iregistrations is a reseller for them and if he feels they are legit.
omnibus
Thank you... I think someone should be try to register with Iregistrations, I can try too...
$5.99 is a very very good price, don't you?
WillyMore
I talked with Dot Registrar and the name IRegistrations is the only one registered with them, probably registered from a reseller. They are not a reseller of Iholdings and they are not a registrar. Before I registered the test domain I would email them and find out what registrar the name would be registered with.
Also the terms of service talk about a promotion that a domain is automatically enrolled in. I think it was an old promotion but I would check into it before using them.
As far as price. It is the best price. It is less than a registrar pays.
I think I will email them with these two questions.
Who is the Registrar and are the 5.99 domains part of a promotion.
indyjon
I use Directnic and charge $25/year for domains. I manage all of my customer domains via directnic. If at anytime the customer wants to have control of his/her own domain then I will approve the transfer.
jschoepp
Maybe it is just me. When I typed 'www.iregistrations.com' into my browser (minus the ' '), it could not find the page.

ThePlanet started with domain name registration recently, $5.99. Hope that others will follow that price, hate transfering..
Hmm! Yesterday the price was $5.99 - today $6.99 icon_smile.gif icon_razz.gif

It is not worth the hassel to transfer to save a $1 or maybe $2 over the course of a year.

or 3000+ domains .. ?

Trust me to save a $1 on every domain is not worth the hassel of manaully going through the whole process of transfering every domain name.
