I'm interested hearing reasons for picking Ensim over Plesk or vice-versa.

We have about 4-5 websites for our company and would like a dedicated server to host just those sites. (i.e. we're not reselling)

In addition to all the normal web services (www, mail, ftp, etc), we need to be able to run current version of development software (i.e. current Perl, PHP, mySQL, etc) as well as be able to install modules from CPAN to take advantage of the various developments in web services (i.e. SOAP) and to be able to add and remove modules from Apache. (i.e. mod_perl)

We also need to have SSL certificates for each site and the ability to sub-domain.

We want to use some sort of web appliance to ease the administrative duties on our very limited IT department.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

plesk is excellent, ensim is cheaper icon_smile.gif
my fave quote ever. but seriously, both have their strengths and weaknesses. i prefer plesk from a hosting admins point and ensim from a server admins point. ensim has the benefit of ssh access securely, and from good acount tracking, but you really need 3.1 not 3.0.
at the end of the day the best thing for you if your an inexperienced admin is a cobalt or ensim as theres so many how to's about for ensim compared with plesk.
get over to plesk.com and ensim.com and try out the demos.

Although most of the ensim vs plesk threads were pre PSA 5.0.

PSA 5.0 simply rocks!
