Full Version: Error pages not working

Hello All.

I'm getting this instead of a 404 for the main domain.

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@4962.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

And additionally when it's for an addon domain the contact email will be:

webmaster@addondomain.4962.com.

I have been reading here about how to edit the error pages but even if I do in cpanel/error pages, I don't see them being used.

I also looked in /root/cpanel3-skel/public_html/ as was mentioned in some posts and it's empty.

How do I get the error pages to work, and also, how can I control what contact email is displays?

It's checked in the Package Manager in WHM and I've tried every search I can to figure it out.

Any help would be great.

In your httpd.conf, the ServerAdmin directive defines the email address. But im sure there is a way in cPanel to set this.

You can edit your default error pages from cpanel itself rather than editing the skeleton. Editing the Skeleton isn't going to change the existing error pages. The link in cPanel is named "error pages".

As I said I did do it in cpanel but it is not using the edited page, or any other page and is giving a code "500 Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
