I am setting up my new Pentium D950 WHM/cPanel box and went to DNSStuff to see if I had things set up right (as far as their tests go). Everything is fine except I get two warnings.

Mismatched glue
WARNING: Since there are multiple A records for one or more of your NS records, the DNS report could not determine if the glue provided by the parent servers match that provided by your authoritative DNS servers. This does not indicate an error, but you should verify that the IPs are correct.

Single Point of Failure
WARNING: Although you have at least 2 NS records, they may both point to the same server (one of our two tests shows them being the same, the other does not), which would result in a single point of failure. You are required to have at least 2 nameservers per RFC 1035 section 2.2.

What is the prescribed way to resolve these issues?

Thanks,
DB

These are fairly common warnings, and your DNS should function fine. The single point of failure indicates that all of your nameservers for the domain exist on the same server or network. Mismatched glue is caused by nameservers answering for your domain that are not listed as the ns records for the domain in the zone file. This can be corrected by ensuring that the authoritative nameservers are the only NS records listed in your zone file. Sometimes, it just takes a bit of propagation time for this error to clear up if the records are correct.

OK I am a little old and slow here and I don't want to scrog this up. Can you give me the blow-by-blow on how to check this out and make sure everything is set correctly please? I am using NS1/MS2.THEPLANET.COM as my name servers.

Well I have moved on with this and actually set up my own NSs. How I have one error at the Single Point of Failure section. Is this normal when running your own NSs? Also, one of my domains (a .NFO name) gets all kinds of errors and it is set up exactly like all the others. In fact the DNSReports halts after the first 4 tests. Is this standard for .INFOs when running your own DNS?
