The Planet Forums > Control Panels > cPanel/WHM > Cpanel/WHM HOWTOs

I'm brand new to this stuff. I just got a dedicated server and I got to the part to set up the hostname. I used the default (cpanel.ev1servers.net) and it told me to get the A Entry for the hostname

Found your hostname to be: cpanel.ev1servers.net
Found your short hostname to be: cpanel
Found your domain name to be: ev1servers.net
Found your main ip to be: ###.###.###.###
If this looks correct,
add A entry

Warning the DNS MASTER system is depreciated and will no longer be supported. Continued use of the DNS MASTER system will result in numerous problems. Ultimately it will result in lost data and very unhappy end users. If you choose to ignore this message, then your system will be automatically updated. The automatic update system may result in loss of data and a non-functional DNS system. It is highly recommended that you manually configure your system to the cPanel standard clustering system here. You should now switch to using clustering for DNS.

Zone ev1servers.net does not exist, a new zone for cpanel.ev1servers.net will be created.

Then the error message above 3 more times and then

Created DNS entry for cpanel.ev1servers.net on 207.218.192.38
Add Complete

What does this mean and what do I do?
dalem
