Hi Guys,

When I compile Apache (using the "Update Apache" option) from WHM anc check the option "GD" it works. Again I recompile Apache using the same steps as above, the GD support disappears. The apps depending on GD support stops working. I have to again check the "GD" option with PHP support and recompile. Is this a known issue..??

What is the solution to it so that GD support does not automatically gets deactivated every time we recompile Apache..??

I know it can also be done using /scripts/easyapache but i presume "Update Apache" internally runs the same script so may be running the script from SSH would also not work..??

Also the checkbox "GD" gets unchecked after Apache finishes compilation.. Why is that..???

Here is my config:

Php Module (Version 4.3.3) (the sub-option "Version 4.3.10" is checked )
GD (Version 2.0.15)
WHM 10.0.0 Cpanel build 10.0.0-R161
WHM X V 3.1.0
Redhat Enterprise 3 i686
Type: Webserver

Thx for all your help.. and your forum is gr8..

Waiting for a solution..

I think the two are related... even though you have GD enabled, cPanel doesn't seem to remember or detect it. On the next WHM rebuild, the box is unchecked, and if you forget to recheck it, you lose GD on the new build. This has bit me a couple of times, but it's easy to fix, if annoying and time consuming. It remains a problem on my current build... Cpanel 10.0.0-R161. As I like to tell my customers: "That's not a bug, that's a feature!" err... to protect you from enabling resource eating modules that you may not need... cool.gif

If it's a real pain for you, you should ask the source:
http://forums.cpanel.net

Oddly, I could find no posts there concerning GD support or install...

Have fun,

Have you tried recompiling apache via ssh? I have always had that work for me and it gives you a much better idea of what is going on. If you keep having trouble with it just login and do /scripts/easyapache.
