Full Version: How To Backup Whole Server?

Hi friends,

I have my box running windows 2003 web edition with helm cp. We have about 800 websites running on it.

Now my problem is...

i need to backup the whole server so that we can recover it in case of a major crash.

I tried using windows backup tool to backup entire configuration of the system onto the second HDD but it asked for a floppy disk to write recovery data. When contacted with ev1 support they said they don't have floppy disks there and is out of scope of their support they suggested some other backup software that can backup data with out floppy disks.

Can any body tell me how can i do such a backup of my entire server to the second hard disk? without a floppy disc.

Is there any free software available for the same?

Thanks in advance
Raj

Please if you have solved, may you write a simple how to do this?
Since now, from what I've read these are the steps:

- Running the Helm utility to backup up the whole server data such as IIS config, email account, ftp account and so on.
- Running your preferred backup utility to backup your clients site data, email data, webmail data, stats data and so on.

I think there is no other data to backup because as it was said to me, the major things are already made by the Helm backup script.

Please, if there is any further info, please add to this post.
Thank you.
