Is or has anybody been getting this error (Resolving layer1.cpanel.net... failed)when trying to update using /scripts/easyapache? I also can't update cpanel using /scripts/upcp and no luck. I have seen reports of cpanel.net having some issues but this has been going on for more that 2 days now. Please somebody tell me there is a fix, and it better not be to swith control panels!

I got my problem resolved finally. After speaking with a tech at ev1, it pointed out that my /etc/resolv.conf was incorrect and my IP address binded to my machine were on the wrong subnet. How these settings got changed is unclear. But to fix the /etc/resolv.conf file I had to have the following:

nameserver 207.218.192.38
nameserver 207.218.192.39

Those should be the only two lines in that file. Might want to make sure those are the correct nameservers for you as I was provided these from a tech at ev1.

Lastly for the IP issue which may not be a problem for anybody else I had to run the following command:

/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/ipaliases restart

Hope this helps

I would also list 127.0.0.1 first to help with adding new domains and such. It will make them work right away from the server point of view.
