I'm a single box admin moving to new RHE/Cpanel machine. I have an empty DNS configuration other than 3 seperate zones for each host entry that was made during setup.

It's been awhile but I remember deleting these zones and consolidating them to a zone covering the whole domain then adding an A record for the host and NS records for the name servers.

Is there a reason Cpanel doesn't do it this way already?

Or to ask in a different way, are there any advantages to having seperate zones for name servers instead of a single zone with NS entries?
