Oh great Cpanel wizards... here is another newbie question for you.

I wish to upload a file to my skeleton directory. I cannot find any sort of file manager in WHM, ergo i assume I must ftp into my server as root. Am I correct?

Using Smart ftp, I just cannot ftp into my server as root.

What is the secret to uploading an index file to the skeleton directory, oh great ones...

Many thanks!

You need an FTP client that supports ftp over SSH.

You can download Filezilla: http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/

After you install it, create a site in the site manager and select servertype as "SFTP using SSH2"

Enter username root and password.

You should be in;)

You can also download the SSH client from www.ssh.com. It's an SSH client with built in ftp client.

And there it is, all done. You can't imagine how much time you've saved me.

Huge thanks!

Doooood! This is about the slickest piece of SSH file mover software that I've ever seen.. !!!

I've tried to use WinSCP and had a TON of problems getting it setup, connected and successfully moving files.. This has the neatest interface that I've yet seen...

VURRRRY NICE

Thanks for the headsup!

Filezilla is open source too! Keeps in line with our opensource servers.

No licensing problems like smartFTP, cuteFTP, WS_FTP, etc. And it has all the great features you need.

I use Filezilla too, and it's awesome. icon_smile.gif SFTP all the way!
