I've been reading around these forums about setting up my own nameservers but still have not been able to completely figure it out. I have already recieved both of my IP Addresses that I will be using for the nameservers from RS. I know that I must enter them into WHM but first I have to go to a registrar to register the nameservers. I have ordered my domain from godaddy.com and have looked around trying to figure out where to do this but have seen nothing about it. So, can I do this or do I need to go to some specific website to register my nameservers?

Also, onec I have my nameservers registered how do I bind the nameservers to the IP? And how do I do the rest of the setting up of things to get my nameservers up and running functionaly?

Any other information that anyone has regarding this issue would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mike Doyle

You need to ask godaddy to register the nameservers, I had to email them and @#!@#!@#!@#!@#! at them for a few days before I finally got it done.

As far as binding htme just make sure you have the correct DNS entries so ns1 and ns2 resovle the correct ip. The nameservers themselves listen to all ips.

You can register the nameservers in the godaddy control panel without needing to contact them at all. That is how I did mine and they were up pretty quickly.

Do you by any chance remember where you registered them at in the godaddy control panel? I have looked everywhere on their site in search for this and haven't seen any sign of where to register the nameservers.
