Hello, I have one client on my server that is consistently reporting not being able to send/receive mail, or most time he says he can receive but not send.

This is his last reported error (edited domain):

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Dave', Server: 'mail.domainname.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have checked everything I can think of on my server and everything seems to be working fine. Absolutely no one else is having any problems with email whatsoever.

I am convinced it is something on his end, and have asked him to check his IE settings a dozen times and he swears they are as I tell him to set them.

I know he is obcessed with stopping spam and has more than one spam filter on his home computer, and I am thinking that is the problem, but I don't know where else to tell him to look.

I have even created a test account on his domain and sent him the proof that it is working fine.

Does anyone have any other ideas where I can tell him to look? I am exasperated at this point.

Thanks
aussie
Why dont you setup your own pop account to connect to his email account. Test it. If you can connect and retrieve chances are its a config setting on his side. I had to do this recently to prove to one of my users it was not our server.

Thanks. I had already done that. I was convinced it was a configuration on his side. Finally determined that his ISP (Cox Cable) was intermittantly blocking port 25 evidently. Changed him to another port and all is well!cool.gif
