Full Version: mailman process won't die

Hello,

Ive been having a series of problems since night before last, and they're all related. I noticed php pages stopped working on my sites, so I logged into whm, and it shows that a "mailman" process was using up all of the CPU. I spent 2 hours trying to kill all of the mailman processes, and deleted the email queue, but the mailman process wouldn't go away.

Yesterday morning, I killed it via ssh, and an RS technician in the chat logged in, and verified that everything was fine. But WHM still reads the process is alive. As a result, php pages still won't work because of the high CPU load that whm is reading.

Has anyone had this problem, or a solution for it?

I filled out a trouble ticket. It took almost a week to solve, but they eventually fixed it. Just be very clear about what's wrong.

This is the message I got when it was fixed:

Dear Sir,

You had used easyapache to recompile PHP and broke php support. It enabled php in cgi mode instead of calling from apache.

Reconfigued via easyapache with the default original options and php is now working.

But a rackshack member was also the person who enabled php in cgi mode, so I'm not sure if your situation is at that point yet.

A fix for this was posted a cpanel forums. If you upgrade to latest stable you shouldn't have any more problems.

BTW it has nothing to do with using easyapache, the tech was way off base.

Are the .php pages just not loading? Do you get the 404 Error?
