Finally, after a hard drive replacement and two restores, we go through the WHM configuration "again" and it finally works right.
Then we change the hostname and try to set a root mysql password via WHM.
The server name change was shotty at best, /etc/hosts still had to be manually edited.
The mysql root password change via WHM failed alltogether.
So, I reboot the server for the hostname change to take effect.
Surprise surprise, now cpanel is reporting :
Invalid License File
WooHoo, now the cpanel license is corrupt and RS is talking about having to do another restore!
I have read and followed the documentation, and aside from the hostname change that required manual intervention
(that was not stated in the documentation by the way, we figured that out by browsing through the files that are supposed to be changed ),
we are attempting to use the WHM interface to configure everything.
Having said that, thus far all that comes to mind is :
What an amazingly overrated piece of crap! or maybe we're cursed...
