Sorry if this seems like a strange post, but I was just blown away by the response speed of a ticket I just put in.. - First day of my honeymoon, I got an sms from one of my contractors saying 'mailservers hdd is read only!', so I log in, and sure enough, she's throwing disk errors.. Remote console still isn't working (last time I tried was during the H1 outage), so I do a shutdown -r -F now on it, and wait 10 mins... She's responding to pings but not SSH.. 'bugger' I think, and put in a manual FSCK request, expecting to be having to login in a few hours while i'm on the road and check the ticket... not 3 minutes had gone by, and I had a response asking if I'd like a manual fsck done if it wasn't already running? 'yes please' I sent back.. 7 minutes later the ticket was updated saying it was running. I sent back a 'thank for the quick responses!', and got back a reply 54 seconds later saying 'no problems'! Another minute and a half later (so 16 minutes and 15 seconds from the initial ticket lodgement), my server is online!
The staff don't seem to sign their tickets anymore, so I don't know who the kudos go to, but whoever did servercommand ticket 5179371, you rock!! Cheers, Damien (off back to honeymoon!!) -------------------- Dip.EE, Dip.IT, StudIEAust, Master Cabler

Awesome!
In that ticket, you were working with Aaron R. -- one of our DC Technicians in H1. I'll definitely let him know how happy you were with the response. -------------------- |
