I got a new server that I am setting up and I am wanting to know what is the best way to set it up. From my experience not only do the namesevers need a PTR but so does the mail server. So in cPanel it defaults the first IP to the hostname which I named mail.myserver.com. Then I setup the DNS and it defaults ns1.myserver.com to the same IP. What I am wondering is, in a perfect setup should I change the host name to ns1, have the next ip ns2, and on third ip setup the named hosting and have the PTR put in for mail on that ip. That way every name gets a PTR.
TIA
