Hello everyone,
We want to update our DNS controls in the Orbit customer portal. Before we start working on that, I wanted to get your opinions and advice. We want to make a service that will suit the needs that are shared by the majority of our DNS users. How do you use your DNS now? What functionality is the most important to you? So please take an opportunity to post your thoughts here in this thread. The more feedback we get, the better that this new service will be. I'm looking forward to reading your replies and seeing the solution that Development creates. Note: The topic title of this forum post is in no way intended to imply payment for ideas or advice offered to ThePlanet. It is to be understood that this is a solicitation of free advice for the benefit of the entire user community -------------------- Thank you,

SPF would be a great feature! While you are doing that I would also suggest a quick wizard to help people walk through it.
Wildcard DNS support would be nice as well. -------------------- John W My personal website with many free security and linux how-to's! Tss -- Live Support! Thanks for the feedback! I'll be compiling a list of the suggestions that are made here and working with our Development team to see what can be offered.

SPF records both TXT and new SPF record type wouldn't hurt. Wildcard along with maybe showing subdomain stuff a little bit more clear. Maybe a link to DNS Report with that domain automatically filled out so users can quickly check their DNS config. DNS is pretty simple as is, I'm not sure how you could improve much more. Note: it's been a while since I've use TP DNS. I generally host all my own.

I would like to be able to add/edit rdns ptr records without having to burden support with a ticket each time.
I would also like orbit to show rdns entries for all IP's. 1.2.3.4 rdns=mydomain.com 1.2.3.5 rdns=customer1domain.com 1.2.3.6 rdns=secure.client4shoppingsite.com etc. It's no big deal to keep this mapped in my own local spreadsheet file, but it would make things even easier if orbit did the work for me -------------------- |
