named is not running in my server... look:

Sounds like you have a bad dns configuration for your servers hostname or may have improperly changed a record. I got this once when i tried to edit the named.conf file. If you have any typographical errors it will fail to start. check your named.conf file for syntax errors. or as it's complaining about a bad dotted quad make sure you entered a IP address in correctly and didn't leave any .'s out Also if you can check your /etc/hosts file and make sure you entered the server hostname and ip properly CODE # Do not remove the following line, or various programs # that require network functionality will fail. 67.XXX.XXX.XXX host.yourserverhostname.com host 127.0.0.1 localhost hope this helps! -------------------- --Aaron Moon MoonSoft Systems |
