I know this is not so hard to do and someone could please guide me.
I have a server already running on TP with domainA.com on server1 with his DNS. Plesk did all the config. I have another box which i wanted to name server2.domainA.com and that when someone enters server2.domainA.com he goes to server 2. Since server1 was with plesk installed it was running out of the box. This new box ist just some test box so i ordered with CentOs and nothing on it. I want to install ISPconfig on it just for my use. I looked at the guide at ISPconfig for CentOS which is very good made actually, step by step i configured now the whole server with mysq, proftp etc. Just the first part i dont know how to it or how to config it. The guide: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_centos_4.4 It says: 2 Adjust /etc/hosts Next we edit /etc/hosts. Make it look like this: CODE vi /etc/hosts CODE # Do not remove the following line, or various programs # that require network functionality will fail. 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost 192.168.0.100 server1.example.com server1. CODE This is how it comes from the planet: # Do not remove the following line, or various programs # that require network functionality will fail. 127.0.0.1 myname.theplanet.host myname localhost.localdomain localhost So how do i basically set this to i what i want? Of course went i get to the part on the guide where i have to start for example ProFTP it says it can, and it has something to do with that not configured well. I appreciate your help guys !!!1 |
