Where is FreeBSD as an OS option on new servers? Has FreeBSD been replaced with CentOS here too?

I don't want to get into a flaming thread about what's better/more secure/etc on the points of FreeBSD and CentOS. I just want to get the OS
we like, and have used for years. And have gotten from ThePlanet and EV1 for years.

Is FreeBSD a special order option? I didn't like the fact that getting FreeBSD installed on my new servers with The Planet now costed me extra. But I lived with that. But not to offer me the option at all anymore is another.

Hello,

Not to get into the specific details of why, but there are hardware compatibility issues with installing FreeBSD on some of our servers, such as the Conroe and Woodcrest.

It is still an option for the majority of our servers, but if you are looking to have it on one of the above sever, then you would need to install it yourself, since it will also needs specific drivers that we don't offer or support...

If you would like to arrange for a KVM to use, or need a more technical explanation please email me at: isaac.k@theplanet.com

6.2 may solve quite a few of the driver issues with the newest hardware. Testing and quality assurance are currently being worked on.
