I have a question when setting up your own nameserver, does it have to be the main domain that you supplied to theplanet/ev1 when siging up? Or can it be any domain? This is new to me hope i'm making sense

My understanding is it has to be the name the server is under, but I am no expert. What solved it for you?

no, it can be any domain. the domain makes no difference as long as named is listening on the corresponding ip address.
