Hi All
This is my first posting here and I am hoping that someone will know what I am talking about and be able to assist. I have just had my new IP address range assigned to me by RIPE and have built some DNS servers completely from scratch, all working ok. The problem is that I am getting complaints from users saying that they are unbale to access a few web sites here and there. I have checked in to the problem and it would appear that my DNS servers are not getting any responses from certain names servers when trying resolves certain addresses. I once had this problem some years back when I had to go through this excerise once before with a newly assigned IP address range and the problem seemed to be related to other ISP's networks not happy to accept traffic from my new IP range. Where DNS was concerned, I found a patch that I was able to apply to DJB that would try to resolve a query with another DNS server if it was unable to get satifactory response from the normal Root Servers and associated path. I actually pointed it to another DNS server that had been established for a number of years and seemed to have no problem resolving anything. I am now desperately trying to find this patch, but so far have had no luck. Please advise? Regards Mark |
