Hello,

It's just come to my attention that a few errors are cropping up in the WHM Mail Statistics, having to do with the all-too-common 550 relaying denied error.

Specific setup: the local domain is hosting the website part, while Yahoo Small Business handles the domain's mail. Aliases are set up via cPanel for all users in domain.com, to point to accounts in yahoomail.com.

The errors:

CODE
1 some.user @ yahoomail.com

R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp: SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO::

host mx1.biz.mail.yahoo.com [67.28.113.136]: 550 relaying denied for

2 another.user @ yahoomail.com

R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp: SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO::

host mx1.biz.mail.yahoo.com [209.191.89.172]: 550 relaying denied for

The DNS zone:

CODE
; Modified by Web Host Manager
; Zone File for domain.com

$TTL 14400

@       14440   IN      SOA     ns1.server.org.    admin.gmail.com.   (

                                       3600000

DNSReport chokes on:

Low port test
Error: Our local DNS server was unable to get your MX record. This usually means that a firewall in front of your DNS server is interfering.

Reverse DNS entries for MX records
ERROR: None of your mail server(s) seem to have reverse DNS (PTR) entries (I didn't get any responses for them).

Any hints?

P.S. Forgot to mention that there's also a MailHop set up: When running a mail test on DNSReport, I get:

CODE
Host    Preference    IP(s) [Country]

domain.com.    10    10.20.30.40 [US]

mx2.mailhop.org.    50    204.13.250.91 [US]204.13.250.92 [US]63.170.10.91 [US]63.170.10.92 [US]204.13.249.91 [US]204.13.249.92 [US]

P.P.S. Reverse DNS data:

CODE
DNS Traversal for 40.30.20.10.in-addr.arpa.
