u can run as many as u want, as long as all of them wont be full at the same time. The dual Xeon can run the equivalent of 2 full 48 man ranked BF2 server instaces

i seriously doubt that , how many are in each server at a time 4. You cant make that many servers on a single xeon 2.4 when each player at the least is going to take up 20 mhz of your processor.

post some ip's for the servers i wanna check out how they run when there full.

uh, yes you can. Its just a matter of RAM. WolfET doesn't care much about CPU as it does RAM.

20MHz per player.

Ok, 2,400MHz = 120 people

16 servers - 120 people max (not likely but just for math) thats 7.5 per map. Take into account some 1v1 maps, and some 40+ player maps ...its certainly do-able.

That's also besides the fact 60% of the time they're NOT full just by the Law of Averages. If they ran FULL even 50% of the time - a good admin would reallocate his resources, but in this case, he doesn't have to.

Each player theoretically takes up 30 mhz on the site but 20 mhz i think is believable and yes the ram is a big factor , i want to c the servers with ppl in them and c some test ip's to really believe 16 servers off of 1 Xeon.

i Know that 20 64 man servers are possible on a dual core operton, EscapedTurkey does it , that is a beast machine. icon_biggrin.gif

I was just joking jeez. You kids kill me sometimes.

I don't pack my server's to the max, never have.

I wouldn't let a single 2.4 get more then 40-50 players on it. I'm about quality not quantity.

And we wonder why EscapedTurkey's prices are so... competitive. Our dual core opteron boxes are awesome, but I'm not sure I'd try throwing 1280 slots onto a single processor (both cores included).

On the DX28+ ? yeah right. if we run a 46 player bf2 and a 30 player cod server, the cod server lags bad. when we add a 3rd server, say a smaller bf2 (20 players), all of the servers lag.
