Hi,
What is the reason that Tipping Point is non operative since 13/01/2006?? The Staff of TP says that they have problems with TippingPoint and that they are trying him to solve. At this moment, I have a ticket since 4 days without any news above the progress for the solution.

Which is the real problem with Tipping Point? The Planet have economic problems (don’t payee Tipping Point)?

Without Tipping Point, the attack to my server is increase to more 1000 %!!! I have ~800 critical attack per day, 15.000 warning attack per day,...

icon_arrow.gif Thanks a lot for complete information, news, about Tipping Point on the ServerMatrix Networks.

The Tipping Point problems are being addressed by engineers at both The Planet and Tipping Point. Once we have all outstanding issues resolved we will schedule a maintenance window for redeployment.

You can rest assure that we are working as quickly as possible to bring this back online.

On a different note, why are you being targeted so much? Consider an investigation of your server and see if you could stop them by other solutions.

I don’t understand if is it normal or not the number of attacks, but I am sure that they come from China, Taiwan, Philippines, Russia, Finland, some ADSL from Ameritech and others ISP inside USA. I have also detected with my firewall in the server that the attacks come from other servers inside The Planet Network (two cases registered). My server don’t have virus, at this moment my firewall is working enough to protect my servers from this hackers.

I suppose that every time that diminishes the security on the network then the attacks they can be increased dramatically. The networks without TippingPoint increase the probability of server contamination and hacked…

Thanks for your comments, do you have any date (or approximate) for the restore TippingPoint on the network?

If you can please collect your logs of attacks from Planet IPs and paste them into a support ticket so our security guys can look into it. Thanks!

I have discovered more 50 IP’s; these attacks to me are IP’s inside ThePlanet network. I'm submitting a lot of this IP in support ticket system.

At this moment my firewall has block all this intruder IP's.

I think that most of the attacks are of the hosting competitors.

Regards.

I'm thinking we should check the servers run by conspiracytheory.com. icon_wink.gif

Just a light hearted joke.

Like Kevin though, collect the logs, and submit them into your ticket (or create a new one if needed).

All the information has been delivered by mail.

But, the most important thing is the restoration of TippingPoint. We will be very happy when this happens ( icon_idea.gif very soon, please).

icon_arrow.gif Any member of the staff, do you have any approximate date for reinstall TippingPoint???

Regards.

I wonder if your server might be targeted so heavily because you haven't paid people that you owe money to? Just a thought to put in your conspiracy book.

It is definitely not normal to be bombarded with so much attacks. I guess less than 10 a week and I do indeed keep my nose clean on the internet. Everything is above board. I don't exactly keep a very low profile icon_wink.gif

What are you hosting anyways that causes your server to attract so much attacks ?

If attacks are coming from the planet, you need to forward the logs to abuse@theplanet.com icon_smile.gif, benefits all of us so more boxes dont get attacked and or eventually comprimised icon_smile.gif

Like Eddy said its not normal icon_razz.gif, you hosting any political websites, or gaming "clan" websites? Usualy those two are targets for attacks.

Thanks to all for their suggestions.

(-) We don't have any game server or similar, nothing.
(-) We have some government's websites (only two), but I don't believe that it is the problem (non detect medium or high activity in the monitor over it).

I think that the problem could be that the competition could have armed some competition of attacks, but I am not sure of this and definitively they are single suppositions on the problem. I am not in the mind of the attackers…

Only I can submit the logs, the logs is the facts.

Thanks again.

I host clan sites, government sites, and personal blogs... Game servers, shoutcast, and anything else (except ircd) that you can think of, and I dont get attacked...

I very much doubt your competition is doing it. If it is, that's very very lame, and they should get a visit from the bat patrol.

Friends,
I think that is important that Staff said: How long time Tipping Point will be come back active again??

I have visited always some webpage on servermatrix.com, theplanet.com ... and in all your web pages said:

THE PLANET ESSENTIALS

Included with Every Server

Flexible monthly agreements
Premium grade hardware
99.9% Service Level Agreement
Full Root access
Full monitoring (Ping, Service, System, Process)
System software updates
Private VLANs
Linux, Windows or FreeBSD
Managed DNS
Free 24 Hour Live Technical & Sales Support
Orbit™ Customer Control Portal
Free Advanced Security and Other Tools

Arbor PeakFlow DDoS Detection
[b]TippingPoint Intrusion Detection & Prevention
Cisco Guard DDoS Mitigation
Urchin Web Stats
Remote Reboot
Backup Services ...

This is not to request a lot, right? Only said for example any date: Tipping Point active again in 20 years, or never  ? The saddest or worried is the questions without response.

Thanks a lot for any definition about this issue.

They dont have an ETA. I bet its because they are one of the largest installations for Tipping Point. If they said it would be online Feb 30th, you would be freaking out in that March when it isn't active. Stuff breaks, stuff gets fixed, they are working on it, so just wait on it.
