Why does load-balancing on TP cost more than SM? i.e. What is so different about it?

I believe is not so much that TP Load Balancing is more costly without cause but because Zeus charges a different rate for their Load Balancer product based on number of CPUs. The TP TC servers are basic dual Xeon and thus would cost more because they have two CPUs. Most SM offerings are single CPU based and are charge for that single CPU.

It is? It's supposed to be one price for everyone, at least as far as I can tell. Is there a webpage somewhere that disagrees?

As far as I can tell there is no price listed anywhere on ThePlanet's site. It merely says to contact sales, and the order page doesn't mention it.

Lance said $49 for SM, $99 for TP, but when I go to order in orbit it says $49 icon_smile.gif

 August 15, 2004 – Load Balancing!! Yes, we will have affordable ZEUS load balancing for all SM and TC customers. For SM, the price will be $49 and for TC, the price will be $99. This is the most aggressive enterprise level load balancing out there.
