Hello,
we have been using our RH9 / Plesk 6.0.2 server with no problems for nearly three years. I am ashamed to say we never cleaned logs or deleted them, mainly because we have no way to backup them. Some log files, like "lastlog" in /var/log has grown to well above 2 GBs. So, if you could not backup your old logs, which ones would you delete from your server? Thanks! |

you can remove access logs and error logs and such. some of them require you to restart the service that is logging to them to recreate them, that is if you delete them. If you just cat /dev/null > logfile where logfile is the filename, then it will just empty the logfile
