I'd like your company to offer NAS servers as an addon for your dedicated server. So if a person on a dedicated server needed 5TB of extra storage space, instead of getting a Private rack servers, they could just get a NAS server and mount it onto the Dedicated server via NFS.

I agree its a nice idea, but have you priced server class NAS devices? I am sure Ev1 management will look at this but the price might make it prohibative.

We have looked at this but be very cautious of the bandwidth. The 10mbit pnet is way to slow and over the 100mbit network bandwidth can add up very quickly!

I checked a few weeks ago and 4x400 was the most drives that could be offered in a single system.

We are currently exploring and testing a number of high-speed, high-capacity devices. However, the largest "standard" system we currently setup is a Dual Xeon 2.4ghz server with 6 x 400GB SATA drives in a 2.0TB RAID-5 array.

If you have a need for systems like this, just email to custom@ev1servers.net with details about your requirements... icon_smile.gif
