Network Status DC1 and DC2
Cogent Latency 10/05/05 1:40 pm CDST (-5 UTC) At 4:30 (CDST) am this morning Level3 “de-peered” with Cogent. The result is increased latency across the Cogent network. Cogent is working to move as much traffic as possible to other peers. We are also moving traffic off of Cogent. Cogent is in negotiations with Level3 to try and resolve this. You can find updates here: http://status.cogentco.com/ If I hear anything I will update you here. Regards, Val -------------------- Valarie L. Stinson

Increased latency in my case at least is translating to no access. Can you elaborate on "moving traffic off of Cogent." Does that mean network cables are physically being relocated and it is a matter of time before you get to each server?

Can this lead to a complete lack of access to the machine? I cannot access the server via the web, although I can ping it?!
