Hello,
My name is Max Rathbone, I am founder of Orbital Grooves Radio. We have nearly 500 DJs from around the world, playing LIVE music 24.7. I've been looking to get a dedicated server for my radio station for some time. After investigating about 10 companies, I believe I will be settling onto EV1. The main reason is I heard from someone that they are very reliable, and they have been with them for 2+ years. Before I take the plunge and purchase a server, I'd like to lay down a couple #'s and ask some of you other customer's if you forsee any problems. We use up a maximum of 3Megabit per second throughput on our bandwidth with a monthly total of under 300GB transfer. Due to the nature of audio streaming, the reliability and UpTime of the bandwidth is extremely important. Even a minute or two downtime and our listeners will notice. Another question I have, the server our website is currently on is of the Ensim/Urchin variety...would it be possible to move over all the data so that when I get on the EV1 server the website statistics pick right up and I don't loose any data???? Please let me know what you all think of my situation and if purchasing a server here is the right choice or not. ------------------------- Max aka Shouden Orbital Grooves Radio http://www.orbitalgrooves.com |

I do have to agree that Rackshack should fit your needs..
as to your questions about your logs/statistics.. I would suggest contacting Urchin about being able to transfer the logs/DB/records to a new server.. Mouse -------------------- Mouse Reserves the right to be profoundly wrong in any instance.

thanks for your suggest, I do see that Urchin does have a program that grabs all the logs...good thing..
I'd really hate to loose 7 months worth of stats.. -------------------- Shouden aka Max

Don't think you could go wrong with RS, we use them for about 80% of our server needs now. There network is better than the colos we employ.

EV1 doesn't offer an SLA, however, I believe their actions speak louder than legal mumbo-jumbo -- and they certianly provide reliable service.
I highly recommend them. -------------------- There once was a Devil that forced a Penguin to throw an Apple through a Window -- and Netware just sat there because it's crap.

I need my groove radio station 103.1 back in the Los Angeles area. What ever happened to Groove Radio 103.1? I heard the old fart who owned the radio station sold it for a reported 53 million to some radio stations who changed the format and that left everyone, loyal Groove Radio listeners, in the L.A basin without a Groove Radio station to listen to. Im really bombed about it because I have been without my Groove for over 3yrs and im still searching for a decent station to offer what im looking for. Im not into any of the other crap being forced upon us by all these useless radio stations, named Rick Dees at 102.7 to name one. RAP RAP RAP is all CRAP. MTV is crap and so is VH1. What happened to these statsions? Nothing but RAP and Crap! Why is RAP such a big deal nowadays? Everywere you go its rap! Im stick of it and it sends and evil message. I want to change formats! Where do i tune old friend???? -------------------- |

First you must have an audio player installed, I recommend Winamp.
You can tune in by going to OGR's Main Website - http://www.OrbitalGrooves.com[/URL] and click on the Tune In link in the top left hand corner. (= We play strictly electronic music, however we have just about sub-genre under electronica(House, Trance, DnB, Techno, Breaks, Jungle, etc) Hope this helps.. -------------------- Shouden aka Max
